Pimp that Pattern - Playsuit Blog Tour

This is a funny blog tour!!!
I normally don't change patterns and sew exactly like "I'm told". So when Lydia came up with Pimp your Flutterby Playsuit it was an opportunity to escape my comfort zone and try something new! Although I like the pattern exactly has it is... It's so versatile, not only due to the different options, but mainly cos depending on the fabric you choose you have different uses for it. Perfect to make it in corduroy for winter and use it as an overall with a body inside, or the other way round, you can make it in shirt cotton and use it inside some overalls, etc etc etc...
I thought it was funny to try to transform the pattern in some overalls, it shouldn't be that difficult right?!? Well... WRONG!
On my first attempt I did some reversible overalls, all went fine and it was a quite easy transformation. Have the top back and front of the bodice a little shorter, change the the armsycle to make it bigger, pleats on the sides and just add some straps!
One side with Cotton & Stell fabric...
and some Claud9 Lotus Pond on the other...
And... I could stop here and you will all believe I'm an experienced sewer that knows what she is doing LOL! Not really, the pleats on the sides were improvised, since I've changed the pattern on the armsycle in a way that it didn't work at all. I'm a little stubborn so I had to make another one... This time instead of pleats I did an elastic casting on the sides and it turned out really well :)
Until the 8th the Flutterby Playsuit will be 30% off in the Craftsy shop

Check what everyone is doing... There are some pretty amazing Playsuits!
