La Brune

"Slow Sewing"

That's my commitment for the "Project Sew It". At least once a month, I will take a deep breath and sew at a slow pace, savouring what I'm doing. It's not about doing the things at a snail's pace, it's more about taking the right time and doing things at the right speed. Doing everything as well as possible, instead of as fast as possible.
Do you want to join? It's an ambitious commitment for me! Trust me. I don't have much spare time, neither to sew, and most of the times I get so excited about what I'm doing I'm really thinking on finishing quickly rather than doing it perfect. In a perfect world, I might be able to make of this new "slow sewing movement" my leitmotiv, who knows! But at least once a month I will do my best and the take the time to sew. This will apply to anything I want to sew: for my daughter, for me, for my boy...
And here is my first "slow blouse" :-) A beautiful French Pattern "La Brune" from Delphine et Morissette that I discovered thanks to Andreia (In a manner of sewing). I fell in love with her blouse, and then searched a bit more and fell in love again with the version of Jolies Bobines. Do you know this blogger? She's just amazing... Apart from her sewing skills, her style, photos and taste for sewing is far beyond perfection!

  1. Such a gorgeous blouse! And if this is what "slow sewing" produces, then you definitely need to encourage more people to join you in this project!! ;) I love this idea, but it's so hard for me to slow down because I tend to get excited about a project and just want to finish. I need to take a page from your book!

    1. You are so nice, Emi! :-)
I'm happy to hear you also get excited to see the finished project quickly. In a way it reveals we are passionate, right?

  2. Slow sewing sounds like a perfect project! I think I usually try to do the sewing really quickly because it's my least favourite part of the whole design process. I am usually really slow with choosing the fabric ;) I think sewing for myself will definitely make me go slower. And this blouse is just so lovely and your fabric is gorgeous. We need to see more of you too! Thanks so much for joining in the fun! xxx

    1. I remember reading a while ago the part you liked the least about your projects was sewing. Which sounds funny, cause you do it perfect! But I completely see what you mean. Thanks for encouraging me to sew more for me. I will definately do :-)

  3. I love this blouse, it is beautiful and looks great on you!
Slow sewing, that is how I like to sew! Take my time and try to make it the best way I can, although that is not always possible for me.
