Where to begin?! The big announcement or the sewing stuff?

Hummm... Where to begin?! The big anouncement or the sewing stuff? I have been a little absent from here, and today is probably the last day I'll be writing here. WHAT?!? I'm not going to disappear but I won't be able to sew during a year. I will stop by once in a while to show you the things I've sewed in the last 2 months (a LOT), but you won't "see" me around here much. You are totally lost right?
I WILL BE TRAVELLING THE WORLD WITH MY FAMILLY FOR A YEAR!
You can follow our adventures here...

Our lugagge... 4 backpacks! I didn't dare making ours, I could tell you the reasons but I'm sure you can figure it out by yourself LOL!
For the kids I used the pattern from this book (an amazing one by the way, love every single pattern in it).
At the beginng it was quite confusing and I didn't know which part was what, so I ended up cutting some pieces from the lining fabric that was supposed to be in the outer fabric. I've used blue (here) and mustard (here, couldn't find same colour maybe it's sold out) laminated fabric, I want to buy yards and yards of each, it's AMAZING! For the lining I used some fabric I had in my stash since forever, a double gauze Nani Iro from Miss Matatabi for Teresinha's backpack and some seersucker (tks Soraia) for Francisco. These backpacks will be perfect for them to carry they personal belongings (toys). Great that KCW theme is toys... this is a beautiful way of carrying them around!
Although I won't be doing any sewing I'll keep stalking all of you! I will be so envy of all the amazing things you will all be making... And will miss my sewing machine terribly!

See you soon...
Rita

Hummm....

Rita
